When I passed my boards to become a Registered Dietitian, I accepted a position as a traveling dietitian where I completed contracts in New York, Georgia and Virginia. I loved my job, and I learned A LOT. From teaching nutrition classes for individuals in cardiac rehab or those newly diagnosed with diabetes to working in the ICU during the pandemic, the experience was invaluable. After the pandemic I made my way back home and took a virtual position helping individuals all over the world improve their health through proper nutrition and exercise. This job was my DREAM JOB aside from one small thing problem.. the price. The company I worked for charged a premium price for my services that most individuals couldn’t dream of paying. Once I heard that women were opening new credit cards to afford coaching, I knew there had to be a better way. This is where Catalyst Nutrition and Training was started.
I truly believe that nutrition knowledge should be accessible to all individuals. For this reason, I decided to partner with insurance companies so that, for many people, nutrition services would be covered. This transition meant that I would get to work with patients in-person and build a connection with each patient while also helping to improve the overall health of my community.
I joined the Chamber of Commerce to help spread the word about Catalyst Nutrition and Training to my local community as well as begin to build a stronger connections and friendships now that I have returned from my adventures traveling. My time away opened my eyes to just how special the Back Mountain community is, and I want to be a bigger part of that.
