An interview with Gabrielle Lang, Marketing Director, who has been with the company since 2017.

Tell us about your business, your locations, your team and your customers:
We have a location close to the Back Mountain at 392 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, that serves the entire Luzerne County. Classic Properties’ local experts in the Back Mountain can help clients buy and sell single-family homes, commercial buildings, land and various other properties.

Classic Properties has been in business since 1983, and we aim to stay innovative and modern with technology. We are always looking for new and better ways to serve our clients.

What’s your favorite thing about doing businesses in NEPA?
The personality and community in our area. Our experts are knowledgeable in all aspects of modern real estate, and we give our clients a “local expert eye.” Our realtors live locally and are a part of their communities. They have families here and grew up around the area, so for them, it's “more than a job.”

Why did you choose to join the Back Mountain Chamber?
We choose to join the Back Mountain Chamber because we wanted to become further connected to our community. Not only is our office in Kingston, but many of our agents live in Dallas, Harveys Lake, and the other surrounding Back Mountain towns…many of them since they were children! This area is close to our hearts.

Have you changed your business at all due to the impacts of COVID-19?
Due to Covid-19, we have introduced a new way for our clients to show and look for homes. To stay safe, we offer “SafeHome PPE Kits” that include face masks, gloves, foot coverings, disposable bags, sign rider, etc. Our realtors deliver the PPE Kits to every seller to keep everyone as safe as possible.

Share something interesting about your business that most people don’t know:
The team at Classic Properties does a lot of community service, especially in our Kingston office. As recently as May, we organized a food drive—called “Classic Cares”—that had a great turnout. We collected a lot of food for the local pantries, and this is a big project the Kingston office and our other locations do every year. We’re really proud of everyone’s efforts to make it successful and impactful.

We just rolled out a new way to transfer Earnest Money deposits—it’s like the Venmo of real estate transactions. Our clients can verify funds through easy and secure payments right from their phones. It takes minutes, whereas other methods can take up to 14 days. This new way to transfer funds also helps a lot with contactless payments during this pandemic. It’s another way our company remains tech-savvy and innovative.
