Family Nature Walk: Bare Tree ID
Spend your morning at the George & Lillian Picton Wildlife Sanctuary with North Branch Land Trust! Learn branches, bark, and other clues that can help you identify trees in Northeastern PA, no matter what time of year! *RECOMMENDED ATTIRE: DRESS WARM PLEASE!* This moderately paced walk will take us around the grounds of Picton Wildlife Sanctuary, on our Split Rock Trail. This is a paved trail that inclines on the way to split rock and declines on the way down to the parking lot. On this hike, Emma Thompson will walk us through the Picton Preserve with occasional stops to give key factors to identifying different trees within this location. Attendees will have a Common Tree ID book to help guess which tree Emma is describing. Child-centered, family friendly event Inclement weather will cause this event to be rescheduled for January 17th (same time and location). Please contact, Leah Malarkey (Malarkey@nblt.org) or info@nblt.org, along with our office phone number (570) 310-1781, for any questions.
