Tell us a bit about your business, your locations, your team and the types of customers you serve.
Presidio Insurance is a client-focused, boutique commercial and personal insurance agency with offices in Twin Stacks, Dallas and on State Street in Clarks Summit. We also provide Risk Management.
Our Risk Management specialties include:
Personal Lines: Home, Auto, Umbrella and Life insurance.
Commercial Lines: Business Owners, Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, Commercial Real Estate and Group Health Care insurance. Some commercial specialties include restaurants, daycares, contractors and commercial garages.
Our clients are very diverse and the best part about our job is getting to know each client, really finding out what they need and determining how we can help.
What’s an interesting fact about your business most people don’t know?
Great question. Perhaps it’s the difference between independent vs. captive agencies. As an Independent Agency, we are free to choose the best carrier for your insurance needs. We do not work for an insurance company; we work for you. On your side when you have a loss, we follow through to see that you get fair, prompt payment and service. Presidio Insurance represents a carefully selected group of financially stable, reputable insurance companies. Therefore, we can offer the best coverage at the most competitive price.
The other interesting fact is that our services are paid for by the carrier, not the client. Our risk analysis, shopping carriers and claims service costs are free to the client. Anyone interested in reviewing costs/coverages has nothing to lose. We do the work with the hopes of earning a new customer.
What do you think makes Presidio Insurance stand out?
Unlike many traditional insurance offices, at Presidio you always deal with one of our three partners (Jerry, Carl and Eric Weinberg). When you call Presidio, you get one of us, not a call center or reception desk. We handle all quotes and provide service hands-on, which allows us to really get to know our clients. People’s lives can change quickly so we do our best to keep in contact with every client to advise them of risks they might not see coming.
We really value our relationships with clients and it means a lot to us that we can help in a crisis. We often joke about the time Jerry answered a 10pm call from a client who was dealing with a flooded storefront. Jerry showed up at the client’s business with a Shop-Vac in hand to assure cleanup, refer ServPro and get the claim started for a rapid payout — check out the photo below! Of course, we aren’t personally responding to every single claim situation in that manner, but the point is, when you call us, we will always try to help in whatever way we are able.
Why did you decide to join the Back Mountain Chamber?
Our neighbors and business owners in the Back Mountain have been some of our favorite clients. We have hundreds of clients in Luzerne County alone with many of them choosing to live and do business in the Back Mountain. We wanted to join so we can get to know the Back Mountain community even better while providing our risk management advice and expertise. The Back Mountain is home to us, and Jerry is a native of the area. We love our cozy office space in the Twin Stacks building and we have met a lot of businesses people and friends by having an office presence in this great space. It’s nice to go to work and to be surrounded by so many co-entrepreneurs.
Share something you specifically want people to know about Presidio:
Our three partners are very involved in the community. We serve as youth soccer and baseball coaches and are active on many boards including the NEPA Philharmonic, F.M. Kirby Center, Leadership Wilkes-Barre and the Jackson Township Recreation Board.
We love meeting with new people and are always happy to meet in person, over a zoom call, or chat on the phone to see if we can help make their life easier by providing our services.
